The scene: my bedroom.
The time: 7:14 am
I'm sort of half awake. Yoshie, I think, is asleep. Then 7:15 hits, and the alarm that Yoshie set on her mobile phone goes off. It's not a loud shriek like many alarm clocks, just a quiet "time to wake up now" kind of sound. Next thing we hear is "What's that?" from the foot of the bed.

About 7 years ago, I asked you for the Japanese translation of that phrase. It was Joshua's main form of communication at the time, and I wanted him to use Japanese for our Pennsic camp.
